It seems like we are constantly being informed of increases to basic services, has that made you start thinking about what expenses can be trimmed??  The power of shopping is in your hands – the customer!

Now might be the right time to dive a little deeper and take away some of the sting before it hits the budget.

Some companies offer bundles or packages to reduce your overall utility expenses.  But these can sometimes come with fishhooks, signing you up to fixed term contracts that are expensive to get out of.  The deal seems pretty good at the time but it’s not always as shiny as seen at first glance.  Sometimes those ‘all too good to be true’ freebies may not be all that they are cracked up to be and you might be spending more than you bargained for in the long run.

Take the time to shop around & compare prices, read the full contract terms, inclusions, exclusions and sniff out a good deal that works for your budget.

Here are some helpful links to get you started:

Don’t stop there, if you are renewing your mortgage, investing in your retirement, or setting savings goals, it’s always a good idea to compare mortgage and interest rate offers with the OCR rate change.  There might be a better deal for you with another bank or financial service provider.

After all who doesn’t like a good deal and more $$ in your back pocket!!
